The UCLA PTSD Index for DSM-5 is a semi-structured interview that assesses a child's exposure to 26 types of traumatic events and assesses DSM-5 PTSD diagnostic criteria. It assesses symptoms of PTSD and associated symptoms of guilt and fear of the event reoccurring. A parent-report version is also available. These instruments provide brief (20 minute) screening generating information about trauma exposure and resulting PTSD symptoms.
Scoring
The child version has 20 items, adolescent version has 22 items and the parent version has 21 questions. The index score is the sum of all items rated on a 5-point Likert scale (0-4).
