| Short Description of Instrument |
The Brief Sensation Seeking Scale (BSS) is an 8 item version of the 40 item sensation seeking assessment created by Zuckerman (1964). The 8 item measure was deemed to be both reliable and predictive of willingness to take risk (Holye 2002). The scale measures four domains (Experience seeking, Boredom and Susceptibility, Thrill and adventure seeking, Disinihibition) with 2 questions per domain.

| Scoring |
Each of the eight items are scored on a 1 (Strongly disagree) to 5 (Strongly agree) scale by the participant. Scores for each domain are totaled with higher scores (out of 10) representing a stronger preference for that domain
