|
Rationale/Justification |
Many patients with Chiari I malformation complain of neck pain and surgical procedures can increase or decrease neck pain symptoms. Recording the Numeric Rating Scale value for Neck Pain before and after surgery will provide a standard and replicable way to quantitate the response of neck pain to different surgical procedures for Chiari I malformation. This instrument measures neck pain and not disability, which is recorded by the Neck Disability Index.
