Short Description of Instrument
The Schedule for the Evaluation of Individual Quality of Life (SEIQoL) was developed as an individualized measure that allows for the respondent to choose the most important domains to be evaluated. Respondents are required to have sufficient insight into the factors that determine their quality of life, have the ability to think abstractly and to make judgments based on information presented in diagrammatic form.

A Direct Weighting procedure the SEIQoL-DW was developed and has been deemed more suitable for routine clinical use. Most notably it places fewer demands on patients with reduced cognitive function.
Scoring
A global score from 0 to 100 (the SEIQoL index) is derived from the levels and weights, with zero indicating worst QoL and 100 the best QoL.
